Here is the rod that I fixed. I cut off a section of an old radio antenna with the outside diameter slightly larger than the rod diameter. Using the Epoxy glue I bought from the Home Depot, I applied the mixed glue on both ends of the broken sections as well as the inside antenna tube. Slid the ends into the tube and aligned the rod guides. The whole work took just 15 minutes.
After it was fully cured, I bent the rod and tested the strength and flexibility. When the rod is bent very hard, you can see that that joint section is a little bit rigid. However, I don't think that joint will significantly affect its use. By the way, I used the glue which is water resistant.
