Just wondreing what gear you guys take out for gun season.I hunt all day so I take knife,rope,flashlight,2 way radio, thermos, lunch, bottle of water, watch, compass, extra gloves, ski mask for really cold days, spare lighter,t/p,extra shells, sometimes spare socks and small binocs.
I know it seems like a lot of stuff but I figure that with it,it makes it easier to stay on stand all day....

How many guys take some sort of "firestarting" device with them? I used to carry a flint, matches and lighter all the time...even when I hunted my farm in Hillsdale. What was I gonna do start a signal fire if I got lost  I don't smoke but I always had that stuff...weird. It seems that if you fell and got hurt bad and started a fire, you wouldn't be able to get away from the flames that went out of control because you couldn't tend the fire anyways.. :yikes: Also how would you gather wood if you were hurt? Just things I found myself contemplating as I sat on stand a few times.

Don't forget your deer tags and something to attach them with. I've had to cut a piece off my boot laces a time or two.

On opening day, I'm a real geek about hauling all kinds of crap into the woods with me. So much I can hardly pack it all in. By the second day I've left some of it behind. As the season moves on, I usually get down to a gun, a compass, TP, snacks and a knife.
