In a tree in a currently wet tag alder swamp in Lake County. I'll set-up my bird suet feeder to keep me entertained ; also have the river to watch. Figure while you're waiting for the buck, might as well have something else to look at.

Newaygo Cty, Baldwin Area along the storied little south branch of the PM where we see 11 points every year (spikes) and no big ones to speak of. But the deer are plentiful and the scenery can't be beat and the guys all have a great time each and every year. Good luck to each and every one of you be safe huh.

I will be up from the 5th - 16th. Opening day will be special. I am driving down to pick up my oldest son on Friday 11/12, we haven't hunted together for awhile. We will do the last two days of bow season together. Opening day, he will be on one side of a swamp, and I will be on the other. <----<<<

Oceana county on 125 acres known as the Circle M Hunt Club. First time hunting on it in a few years as we have hunted the deep dark cedar swamps of Manton for the past 17 years of my life. Figure we're paying taxes and for the lease, better hunt the Circle M this year. It will be different, but I'm sure we'll have a good time. Maybe someone will even get a buck!! Good luck everyone and be safe!

I too will be sitting in Chippewa County in the U.P. Since that's where I live. I'll be about 300yds off a two track in the Hiawatha National Forrest. I'd be more specific but I hardly ever see anyone there during hunting season and I like that just fine. This year my 14 yr old son will be sitting 1/4 mile away in his own ground blind. I'll be hoping to hear him shoot opening morning!

In Alpena, This will be my second year hunting the 40 acres I purchased last fall. Last year I seen no deer on my property, although many tracks were seen in the mud and snow, this spring (april) I watched a doe drop a fawn as I turned into a trail on my atv, the doe ran off I shut off the atv and the fawn just squatted down in the clump of grass in the center of the 2 track trail for about 3 or 4 minutes until it felt safe then it stood up and wabbled off to find its mother. I sat in my tree stand during this early antlerless firearm season and watched as a yearling doe and an adult doe slowly walked out 30 yards in front of me, it couldn't have been any better the way they came thru a funnel opening in the thick tree line that seperates my property from the 3 year old clear cut 80 acres next to my property, but all that was going thru my mind was they were the same 2 from the spring time (April) that I witnessed give birth. So as they slowly just walked past I watched thru my scope as they went out of sight behind some trees. I'm 43 yo and have not taken a deer yet in my life time, I used to hunt in my early 20's in the thumb area (argile) with many sightings but no success. But now almost 20 years later I finally purchased my own northern Michigan property and I am addicted to it, I am actually sitting at work right now with this feeling of wanting to be in Alpena instead of Southfield thats undescribable. Although I have been beating myself up over not taking that adult doe, I'm kinda glad I let it walk just to proove to myself that I was out in the woods for the love of the outdoors instead of just the sole purpose of shooting a deer so all is well. Now the fact that the deer population is rather thin in my area I wonder if I passed on my only chance for venison this year but only time will tell, there is still plenty of hunting time left this season, Archery and firearm.

I'll be on the family farm in Branch County. Over my first 8 seasons I have sat every opening morning within 100 yds of where I'll be on the 15th this year. I have had a shot at a buck 4 of the 8 years on opening morning. My dad is 46 and has not missed an opening day at the farm since he started hunting. All the guys in the family come into town for a tradition that I cherish more and more every year. I can't wait!

Manistee County WAY back in the swamp. It will be like the old times this year as I was up this weekend and the swamp is just FULL of water. Hip boots a mile back - probably no hunters - just the weak ones pushing the deer to me from Udell Hills. Can't wait as in the recent past, no water in swamp meant MANY more hunters.
