Also got us out of a recession inherited when he took office, cut taxes for hard working Americans, helped us through and united us after the 911 attacks on America, began homeland defense, took us into Afganistan and made them a free and democratic society, took a madman out of power in the middle east and liberated  another few million people, and now we are in the greatest time of economic growth on record. That bastard

I think that the slasher movie was titled: "The Constitution (except for the Second Amendment) Must Fall"

With the administration's attacks on the freedom of the press, free speech, right of access to information, right to assemble, right against unlawful search/seizure, right to a speedy and public trial, etc, I can definitely see how this whole past four years has been an slashing of our Constitutional freedoms, unless of course you're with the NRA.

What slasher movie? I was unaware of that.

I'm not so sure we are out of the recession. Consumer confidence index was terrible on Tuesday. Coming into the holiday season that means spending will probably be way down. Bad retailing profits will equate to more layoffs and another turn downward. I'm just not convinced that we are doing very good at econmicaly. At least not here in Michigan where it matters most to mer.

now we are in the greatest time of economic growth on record.

AW, did you make that one upyourself or did you hear it on rush?

Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rates
1st quarter 2004 4.5%
2nd quarter 2004 3.3%

Is this the record economic growth you speak of??

Exactly how long does Granholm have to be in office before we can start blaming her for Michigan's economy?

BTW~ I have increased my work force 15% in the last year, and working 24 hours, 6 or 7 days a week. I am running over capacity in several of my departments. This had been the first recession since the boom of the computer age, it is also the first since the implementation of NAFTA, the free trade with China, and the war on terrorism. Top that with the Higher cost of energy and health care and I would expect this recovery to be slower and a bit more up and down than the previous one.

Day one according to the Dems bashing Bush.
If she ever get's caught with her pants down in the capital, she'll just lob a couple tomahawk cruise missles into Canada to take the heat off.

You would've never seen Engler spend nearly a week in Greenville in negotiations offering consessions and tax breaks for Electrolux to stay in town would ya? It's bigger than Granholm, manufacturing jobs leaving the country is a national problem. The question is, How do we reverse the trend?

According to the Reps apparently it takes more than 4 years because even after 4 years in office Bush is in no way accountable for the state of the economy

Wouldn't take Engler a week, he was a pro business Gov.

Granholm was a anti-business Attorney General, and a Anti-Business gov. What is she doing to make Michigan more attractive to businesses? I haven't put too much heat on her as Michigan traditionally follows the rest of the country in recovery.

That's right, Granholm won't rest until every person in this state is unemployed! It's all part of her top-secret plan for world domination.

Care to elaborate on specifically what Granholm has done as a governor to be anti-business. What actions has she taken that is anti-business?

Can't wait for the reply

Same old over spun, regurgitated garbage from the same old person.

These mindless, brainless, childish attacks on the two candidates really are getting quite boring.

You run to some partisan web site or newspaper, copy down what some idiot spews out, spin it up some more yourselves and try to report it here as fact.

I can't wait for this election to be over. Within a week or two the "winners" will be done gloating, the "losers" will be done proclaiming the end of mankind as we know it and it will be ice fishing season.

She has done nothing....That's the point. These times require aggressive incentives to keep our jobs not only in this country, but in this state. I am a active member of the Michigan Tooling Association. All of our request to her office for a meeting to discuss these issues have been met with her sending a rep. who stood in front 800 business owners and told us how great it was to have a business in Michigan. I talk with these owners every day, there is a strong feeling that it is only a matter of time before we see even more taxation and regulation. This fear has business owners holding back investing more into their operations.

I have a letter sitting in front of me as I type this signed by the Gov. herself. That starts with the above smoke blowing above and also states:

"We plan to continue our innovative strategies in making our state the best location for business."

Just wondering when this is going to take place.

I am getting confused here.

First off, if you're business is doing so well....why are you complaining? This is the one that is REALLY confusing me since you state that your business has done so well since she took office.

Secondly, what exactly is it that you'd like her to do for you?

Just trying to understand!

Like I said, I believe the reason Michigan is having a slower economy is because their trend to follow the nations economy following a recession. People have to be re-employed and back on their feet before they can start buying cars.

The reason we are stating to see improvements in my busness(s) is:

1. See above: the nations economy has been growing stronger for some time now and we are starting to see the results of that in the automotive industry.

2. I aggressively solicited customers through the downturn, keeping my business ahead of my competitors.

As far as my above comment about "When can we blame granholm", that was just directed at those who want to keep convincing us the we are still in a recession, especailly in Michigan.
