Well, I finally got my new looker dekes from the UPS man yesterday. Man, that is one tall decoy! I wouldn't go hog crazy with these things in your spread, but it sure looks nice out in the field when you put 5-6 other dekes in a family group then stick one of these out guarding the perimeter. very real lookin'

and apparently, these two buggers thought so too! (boy it's hard not to let that 3rd shell fly! especially after just getting back from Canada!!) :p

with the change in weather, I suspected the birds might be moving around this morning, so I thought I'd come into work a little late after I made a stop at one of my hunting spots.

Took longer to get to the field than it did to rig out, shoot these guys and pick up! :p

forgot the camera, so I had to snap this one back at home. big local birds.

pictured is the two different body styles; one more horizontal the other is tail tipped down (more vertical) and then the three head styles.

Man, those are nice looking. Are those flocked heads?

Nice looking decoys. I like the one with open mouth the best.

Two shells? You'll never keep Remington in business that way.

Nice shooting.

yep,
and the new foot base for '04 as well. (<- not completely sold on this "improvement".) seems waaaay over engineered with bolts, screws, washers, x-weight vs. last years...and if it's one thing we all know is "keep it simple stupid" - especially when it comes to hunting gear. if it takes time, creates weight or has many parts... you're could be in trouble! the locking tabs sound like a good idea - just wasn't executed properly. Just my opinion (for what it's worth).

personally, my fave is the one on the far right. Like I said, if you stick this out with a few others in feeding postions and then walk out from your rig... it just looks real!

(actually... forget that! these dekes are awful! I wouldn't buy any!) ;)

Rem is still recovering from last week, so I think he was thankful he didnt' have to work too hard! (I think he lost about 10 pounds up there!!)
+ the flock just worked perfectly so it was clean, easy shooting and not much of a retrieve really! (2.75" #2's 1 1.8 oz steel in the puss and over dekes knocks them out flat! - no neck wringing necessary! ;) )

The black on the head and neck is not smooth paint but like a velvet texture. In person it really adds to the realism.
