I'm taking a break from the salmon, only perch fishing I do is when I'm ice fishing.
What's # line do you experts recommend for LSC?

Thanks

I wouldn't call myself an expert, althought I did pritty good last year :) but I use 4#trilene ice line on my rods and have never had any problem with breakage, maybe the accessional bad knot coming undone but always been a good line for me. I like the clear lines only because the waters I fish in seem to be always clear and I feel that the fish can see the line with a green or colored line. Hope this helps. ;)

# 6 stren ultra light is my fav. summer and winter perch. but if I'm borke I'll go with any 6 or 8 lb.. # 6 true turn hook

I use 2/8 lb. super line. I feel more bites with this than any other line. I use a 18 inch mono leader with it. It's great line, 2 lb thickness with 8 lb strength.

welcome to the site Inseine.

That sounds like good stuff. 2/8. Question does it twist like mono After use. And a few 5 lb bass. and I wonder if it would hold a slip knot, for slip bobber fisning?

Thanks for the welcome Ed. I've been using it for 3 years now with no problems. I've landed Bass, Pike and Muskie on it with no twisting. I've not tried using a slip bobber on it so I can't answer that question. I use the 4/10 on my Walleye rods for vertical jigging with no twist. I'm by no means a pro at Perch fishing so I need all the advantage I can get. I spend the spring and summer chasing Salmon on the big Lakes, I put my big boat away early to mid September and then I get my 18' boat and go for Perch and Walleye until the pier and surf fishing picks up. So really only spend a month or so Perch fishing. But I aways seem to end up with enough in my freezer to last the winter.

For fall Perch, I use 8 lb Trilene only because of all the Bass that like those nice big Emeralds that I like to use when I can find them. 6 lb is probably adequate for lifting a triple-header of jumbo Perch but they don't seem too line shy when they're active. I use #4 True Turn hooks only because they are easier to get out of the fish that has partially or fully swallowed it. I've found that I miss more fish using small hooks (8's or 10's) especially when using larger minnows. As far as super line, yes it is more sensitive but don't let it get tangled or you will be spending time retying. For the life of me, I can't seem to get that stuff untangled. Get the knife out and start over. :( I do use a very sensitive rod with the mono though.
Welcome to the site Inseine, glad to have you aboard! :)

Not much of a panfisherman, but I have the perch rods rigged with 10# Power Pro. Thin, sensitive as all get out, and ready to go to war with the unexpected.
