I'm new to archery and I'm in the market to buy a good used recurve bow for target practise - probably via ebay. The problem is how to determine whether a recurve bow is left or right handed. My understanding is that a right handed person will hold the bow with his left hand and draw the string with his right. The arrow will then sit on a notch that is on the left side of the bow. I have seen for sale many used recurve bows in which the seller claims are right handed even though the arrow notch is on the rigth side which I presume really makes them left handed bows. So my question is: how does one tell by looking at a picture of a recurve bow whether it is for right or left handed people.
