Hi guys,
My Dad wants to put a dropaway rest on his PSE Fireflight. The dilemma
we're having is that his cable guard is below the rest and I don't think that
any of the rests designed to be lifted with a cable will work. Are there
alternatives out there or should I get him to upgrade his 10plus year old
bow?? He likes the fact that it illiminates the fletching clearance problems
and really wants one that's quiet and reliable. Any ideas??

There are a couple of brands that do not use the cable or the cable guard and those would work on his bow. GKF I think makes one that uses a plunger type system that would work regardless of cable guard placement and I believe there are a couple on the market that work on inertia alone.
I would think that you could also modify a Trophy Taker with a longer cord that could be tied below the cable guard and still work as well.

Just put a NAP Quicktune 200 Drop-Away on my father-in-laws Mathews(It doesn't have a cable guard) and he hasn't had any problems with it. I think the way it is attached is better then using the cable guard attachment.

Trophy Taker, Drop Zone, NAP 2-4000 will all work.
Figure you may need to put a different string on them, the Trophy Taker is probably the easiest to do this on, but just buy a foot of string loop material and run it down past the cable gaurd. It'll be a little long but will work fine.
GKF's power drop will work...no strings. It works on a plunger that gets smacked by the cables coming back in.
Or look at the Trap Door. No cables, No plunger, no nothing. This one works on inertia of the firing of the bow.
There are many options.
