Hey just trying to see if anyone has used these broadheads and if ya did how you like them? Specifically the crimson talons. Just picked me up some. How did they fly when you shoot? And if ya shot a deer with them is the penetration good as they say?

I haven't used them ,but from what I have read on several forums is that the blades bend and break very easy .

I and a freind of mine used Crimson Talons last year. The two deer I took both went less than 40 yards and left a blood trail that my 6 year old could have followed. My hunting buddy took two , one he spined at 40 yards and the other ran maybe 60 yards . Using them this year. They fly true for my set -up . I hope this helps. Shoot through layered foam if you want to use them more than once. They don`t pull our backward very well due to the curved blades.

I used the Crimson Talons (100gr.) last year and had good success. They flew the same as the field points out to 40yds. I didn't practice any farther with them. As far as practicing with them, you can't pull them back through the target or you'll bend the blades. It is a pain but they are designed to bend around bones and such on the way through a deer.

I shot two deer with them last year. The first was an 8pt. at 33yds. It passed completely through and stuck about 6inches in the CRP field on the other side. He ran 60yds and looked back to see what had happened and tipped over. Very good blood trail. Second deer was a doe but the results were a mirror image of the first (a lot closer shot, however).

Both broadheads left a good hole on both sides and great blood trails. The blades were bent up on both heads but they are supposed to. I just replaced the blades and kept hunting. Neither one broke any blades but I did break one pulling it back through the target before realizing, you're not supposed to. Verdict- I'm using them again this year. Loved the flight characteristics and good penetration.
