Read Eric Sharps' article Thursday in the Freep on the last week of trout season so I took his advice and and took a trip up to the Rifle River this past weekend. Had a great weekend-Beautiful weather, good hatches of BWO's and eager trout. The water was gin clear and it was really cool to be able to see the trout fight when I hooked them. Caught a mixed bag of rainbows and browns up to 12" on # 18 BWO's and attractor dries. With Archery season just around the corner, this was probably my last outing for trout. I could not have had a better time. Tight lines guys.

I hear you. I went out before the weekend of achery. We slayed the trout. My girlfriend was giddy. She caught a rainbow, brown, and brookie all at about 10" with in a matter of 15 minuits in the same hole. No one else out on the river! Everyone is salmon fishing. Love this time of year. Her and I went for Salmon in Canada for the Canadian Thanksgiving and once again had the river to ourselves and had a blast. Oh yeah Opening weekend I shot a 6 point. Got to love this time of year!!! How do we make it last longer? :)

Sounds like a great time was had by all.
Any chance you have pics to share?
Don't put those fishing rods away just yet.
Some of the best fishing happens in OCT and NOV but that's a warm water story :D
Wildcat: That cat in my avatar was taken in front of your old house :)
