View Full Version : Sunday afternoon with the lads
Got my chores done. Loaded up the kids and hit the lake. We were out from about 2-6:00. (had to get them home for dinner and bed - school night. Found a school of minnows being ripped to shreads right at the mouth if Goose Bay. (Thanks for the heads up gulls.;)) Cut the big motor and snuck in to investigate on electric power. Caught a bunch of smallies and some smallish pike. Didn't seem to really matter what we threw, buzzbaits, poppers, stickbaits. As long as we stayed near the school we caught fish. The action was getting hotter and hotter as the day wore on, but we finally had to leave. I really love fall.:)

Esox. We caught 2 Muskie and lost one. Also saw a mid 50 roll. What I can't understand haven't seen or caught a Bass since last Friday a week ago. Also only a couple of Pike. Don't make sense at this time of the year. You know???? Bob
No clue Bob. The smallies seem to go on the same fall feeding rampage the muskie and pike do.

Bobhey bob i got two sunday one 14 and one 15 on a red and white super shad rap out near you at the salt...and one big follow on a topwater.....had to be over 40'' im sure.....but not a taker:sad: i gonna hit it tuesday maybe she's waiting for me and hungry this time......;)
I was in a bit of a hurry yesterday, I will elaborate a bit. A lot of people think that the bass topwater bite is reserved for steamy August nights. I have found that in the fall, the topwater bite can last all day, with fish often coming up from even 12' to hit a bait. Fishing topwaters over the weedbeds at current edges can often produce spectular results all the way through late October/ early November, even on sunny calm days.

and that the boys are beginning to understand what fishing is all about...good for you, Dad! Two new fishermen in the ranks!
Hubby and I were riding around Sunday afternoon, too hot to do much else, so stopped by your hunting cabin...checked out the threatening tree. Looks like it's been doing that for a while, I'm still looking for a guy who will cut it down for you, but no worries in the meantime, I don't think.
Two guys fishing the creek right across the road from your place. Looked uncomfortable when they saw us-no signs of recent occupancy in your place, tho... :p
Thanks Linda. That tree has been there a while...LOL. I gave up on posting there years ago, besides, someone might as well fish it, I am hardly ever there.:)
