Well, I was out in my uncles yard in Oxford today doing some shooting, and a little last min tweaking. He has a trail cut into the woods that you can see down for about 150 yards. As I was shooting, I saw a rabbit hop into the trail about 100yds down. I had been squirrel hunting earlier, and hadnt cleaned em yet, so I figure, why not try and add a rabbit to the list. I stepped into the woods just off the trail, and began a very stealthy stalk. Finally, I succeded in getting w/ in 20yds of the ferocious beast, I drew back, and nailed him through the chest. He just jumped in the air, and quickly expired. I was very pleased with myself, if I can shoot a rabbit through the heart, I shouldnt have too many problems with a deer(of course, I was thinking clearly and not shaking like a leaf when I shot the rabbit). The best part of the story for me was that my uncles were out on the back balcony watching me shoot, and witnesses the whole thing. Every one of them were sure I would miss and congratulated me on a clean kill. Lol. Also, interestingly enough, I have only killed 2 rabbits in my life, and they were both with my bow, the other one was a very similar story.

Congrats, Jamie....now can I add the real story? (Uncle Chris).........Jamie (or James to everyone else that isn't family) was flinging arrows all over the yard at a 3D target I have set up when his uncles and I saw a rabbit on the trail and gave him directions on how to "stalk" the ferocious beast (this was after Jamie got lost in the woods while squirrel hunting and I had to go find him! Funny how those things never find their way into the original story). Finally, at the last minute when Jamie came to full draw, one of our goats butted Jamie in the back of the legs which distracted him enough to actually make the shot. Otherwise, we would have never found that arrow!! I may have added that part about the goat, I'm not sure, but regardless it was a good shot and true that the only two rabbits Jamie has killed was with his bow. I notice he didn't add the part about his Aunt Amy squawking at him to go finish off the rabbit because it was flopping around all over the ground! Hopefully, we can put him on a nice buck this fall and he can make a similar shot!

I never got a rabbit with my bow, I have gotten about 2 dozen chipmunks and a squirrel though.

so if you take half of one story and link it with half of the other story you get the truth. which brings me to think this: mallard tone why the hell did you shoot your uncles goat after that rabbit head butted you in the back... not very nice...
