Got a friend who hunts the burbs, his only advise was to pay extra attention to the wind, and makedarn sure you put a good shot on, dont want 'em running into the road lol!!

Good luck on your new spot. I would caution you that 5 acres is pretty small and could get burned out easily. If it were me I wouldn't hunt it much until November and then only when all conditions are perfect.

Also there's no need to get all excited about the lack of responses when the post has only been up for an hour and 15 minutes on a beautiful friday afternoon. Everybodies probably cutting out early from work.

I think I hunted an area last year within about 3 miles of you. The one thing I found was that they travel alot, and you may see them less frequently. But, there are some NICE deer in the area. Should've had a nice 8 ptr last year. Saw a 14 from a distance. Maybe he's still around.

Don't take their overlooking some sounds for granted either.

I hunt a small lot btw a KOA campground and a trailer park. I hear car doors, kids playing, lawn mowers...you name it and the deer browse and pay it no mind. I could hear two kids playing catch with a football last year about 40 yards from one stand. Deer right beneath me and it didn't bother them a bit.

But move a branch, snap a twig, creak coming from the stand and bye bye in a big hurry. They learn quickly.

I gotta agree with Trushot,,, I hunt in the "burbs" too,, I can hear alarm clocks, phones ringing, you name it, and it doesn't seem to bother the deer at all. If you get "too" close to "their" area, you're SCREWED. Stay on the "outsides" of the natural edges, if you can. If you go "inside" and contaminate the "small" area,,, you're season will be over before you know it.

Not trying to be critical but some punctuation goes a long ways in communicating back and forth. It's hard to follow what your saying.

Sounds like you've got a prime spot. Good luck!
