The deer I hunt leave early in the a.m. to their bedding location so I normally leave at 9-9:30am. I have to get out in the stand by 6am cause they're up by the house at that time and start heading to the back about 6:30.

I'll be in a tree 45 minutes befor legal light and hunt till noon. Change spots (depending on the wind and weather and what's going on around the farms I hunt) and back in a tree at 1 if it's cooler, 3-4 if it's hot.

Usually ready around 45 minutes before shooting light, and stay for about 3 hours. Evening about 3-3.5 hours as well.

I'll be in an hour before light, with a big bag lunch and a book. Hunt all day, only leave the stand if I really have to.

Mornings I get my sons off to school. So I mostly, just hunt afternoons. My stand is very close to the bedding area, and you could almost set a clock with what time the deer cut through heading either to the oaks or crop fields. I usually spend 3 hours on stand. Morning hunts usually don't work well in early season as they come through before daylight anyway.

Since I'll be on pub land in Oakland Co. I'll be there very early as I'm near two bedding areas and a watering hole, but also to ward off others who like my spot or its vicinity. I hate hunting like this but what can this city boy do?:grouphug:

As for me I'll be in my stand between 5 and 5:30 and will stay until 10:30 unless I have one down. In the afternoon I'll be sitting by 3:30 and there until dark.

Just about the same as ArrowHawk. In the stand by 5:30, stay til 10:30. Back by 2:30. Where I'm hunting gets most of the traffic in the evening, but occasionally we do find some movement in the early morning hours

If I get out opening weekend this year I plan on being out from about 6am. till 8:30 or so pm.
From sun up till sun down. I don’t do that every time out. But early season when its warm their isn’t much movement. I don’t want to miss the chance of one just looking for a cooler place to lie back down in.

Goose hunt in the morning until around noon then be in the stand for deer by 2. They are calling for low 60's in the north by next week so by 2 otherwise by 3 if its still above 70.
The area i bow hunt is setup better for evening hunts. My morning hunt area is being saved for rifle season where it will require me to take a longer shot at a deer.

I'll be in my stand about 45 minutes before shooting light. I'll stay until 10:00 a.m. I won't be able to hunt Friday night. My son will be playing football so I'll be acting like a maniac in the stands! :) But I usually like to go back out in the afternoon around 4:30.

Good Luck everyone.

Optimistically, I will get to my stand with my 11 year daughter at about 6:30. At about 7:23 am I should grunt in that 160 class ten point, and put an arrow through his heart. I would think that I will be down out of my tree and tracking with my kids at about 7:30.
Realistically, I will probably get out of my stand when I hear "daddy, I have to pee? ;) <----<<<

Just about the same as ArrowHawk. In the stand by 5:30...

I like to get into my stand a little early as well. Usually between 5:30 -5:45 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. or so, then back into the woods by 3 p.m.

They aren't calling for normal October weather so I'm not sure. Ideally I'd go 6-10 and 2-8 with enough bird hunting in between to require a good tree siesta. Forecast is 72-80 degrees so I doubt I'll be running the dogs in the middle of the day. In which case I'll probably hang out all day.

6-9:30 morning. Grab the dog and go for some grouse from 11-2. Then back to the stand from 5-8.

No stand time will drop the truck off at the west end of public hunting about 6:00 AM. Jump in my buddies truck to be driven to the East side. Will take most of the day to still hunt or stalk this Marsh. Chest waders required equipment.

In the stand between 5-5:30. I will stay in the stand until around noon.
Read these posts. Almost everyone gets out of their between 10-11!
THat is why I stay there until noon. They push all the deer to me. Over the years I've seen as many deer at dawn as I have between 10:30-noon. I'll eat and head back out around 2:30-3:00.

Unless I get big buck!! ;)
