Well.....at least the boat is running good. Too bad the perch weren't.
Went out Sun around 4 till dark, Started in 18 FOW and moved to 23 FOW, SE of Stoney PT. Caught about 15 with only 3 keepers. Went back out Mon morning, 25.5 FOW off of the point and was marking tons of fish all morning long... Only put 2 in the box and threw back about 10 dinks and some silvers. Radio traffic didn't sound much better....Heard a couple of good radio reports...most in OH waters. Guys were picking up some eyes out by W sister too. Sounds as though those E winds have pushed quite a bit of weeds to the S end of the lake. Visability off stoney about 1' and the temps are at 73 still.....
Looks like Gone Fishin has got the honey hole!!! Nice job Larry!!!

That seems to be the way with Erie....Some days you can sit on them and hammer them and others...nada. Goes for either perch or eyes. Thing that bugs me is that I was marking fish all day long and couldn't get them to hit.
Where do you get your minnows at??
Last time I went I got them at Jeffs and they were this smallest minnows that I ever tried to fish with. This time I got some from LSC (emralds) and was wondering if that was just a waste of money if they are not native to erie???
What kind of minnows work best???? I hear about pinheads and mud minnows and chub minnows....whole thing is making me do this..... :dizzy: I have just started fishing erie for perch.....I'll figure it out yet. ;)

I hear alot of talk on the radio about Stoney Point, where exactly is it? I been out of the fishing loop for some time. My sons out of school and sports so big daddy is back enjoying his hobbies;) . Goning to try to get out this weeken for some eyes or might start doing some perch fishing. We did manage to get 2 eyes off Sugar Island Tuesday morning. Will be on channel 68, give me a shoot(Leakypipe).

I'm finally going to get out this Sunday, after not even getting my boat out for two months. (Wife had a baby) Going to head out of the River Raisin, into the brest/stony area. Sounds like the bite is off and on. Hopefully, they are hitting on Sunday. I've always had good luck with shiners, never any luck with the fatheads. Anyone know if that little bait store on the raisin river (up by clamdiggers) has minnows?

salmonslammer (http://www.michigan-sportsman.com/forum/member.php?u=1299) Thanks for the imformation, :bash: Dam I've been fishing that area and did not know that was stoney point. I was thinking it was by Stoney Island, but never seen the boats out there. Happy fishing, Leakypipe
