anyone ever fished this lake before? went out yesterday looking for some public land to deer hunt on and came across sleepy hollow state park. not only did i find some possible hunting spots, i came across lake ovid. it looks like and interesting lake to fish so i was just curious what's in there and how to fish it........(thinking about next spring).

the lake used to be great for largemouth not uncommon to cacth a bunch of 5# any day. seen a 7.7 on state scales but do to too many tournys and 2 years ago largemouth decease its now hard to cacth 3#. has exellent catfish and good panfish. muskies are once again getting large. look at stocking reports. i have fished it hard since the day it was flooded. no walleye and i also have never seen or caught a carp or sucker. early spring the weeds are thick but die off later in the year. fish it like the resevoir it is, and you should do good.

BassBoss88,
Do a search of the threads for "lake Ovid" or "Sleepy Hollow", and you'll get a lot of past discussions on the lake. And by the way, the area is hunted pretty heavily....especially deer. Just didn't want you to think you found a gold mine or something
