Does anybody have info on fishing these two rivers near Northland/Arnold? I will be back up there around Oct 1 and would like to try some fishing. I don't fly fish, spincast only. Thanks for the help. PM me please.

Well not exactly. What I was going to say is it is probably only 45min drive to downtown Marquette. By Oct. 1 the rivers and piers from Superior will be peaking with salmon. There are so many places to fish south of town just from off the bank.

The Ford river is just starting to see some Kings, and so is the Eski, however the damn on the escanaba has the water flowing over the top of it as opposed to the turbines. Which creates the problem of there not being one general location for the fish to hole up in. From what I have seen and read, they are only getting fish in the Ford after dark or at dusk, or early morning. And the eski is still hit or miss.

We were down there 2 weekends ago and were a little early, although they did catch a couple out of the Ford on the night that we didn't fish.

As far as locations go, on the eski we were fishing right below the dam and on the Ford we parked at the boat launch and walked to a big rock that is pretty much right at the mouth.

I don't know if this helps at all, but if you make it down there land one for me.

Tight lines,
Dan
