Well the boat traffic was pretty heavy on the Elk lake chain (Traverse City) this weekend. I only tried fishing for about a half an hour on Skegemog. Every place that I tried toi fish had skiers and tubers . Oh well thats what you get on a holiday weekend. I did mark quite a few clouds of baitfish on Elk as we were cruising around, almost nothing on Torch. One strange thing did happen, though. We put in at Whitewater? township park on the SE side of Elk lake on Sunday. When we were loading the boat back on the trailer we were about fifth or sixth in line, and we noticed a lot of people on shore at the launch. When we got up there we could see about thirty people in lawn chairs making fun of the people pulling their boats out of the water. If you were able to get your boat out no problem they said nothing, but if you weren't that good at backing the trailer in or spun your tires pulling out they really gave you the business. I don't know if I have ever seen such a low class display in my life. I was pretty offended that people who were paying to use launch were being harassed by people that didn't have anything better to do than be jerks. I stopped at the booth to tell the person collecting money about and they didn't seem to care at all. ASnyone else ever experienced this kind of thin before?

Arrowdog, keep in mind that if it wasn't for the few jerks out there, we'd have a more difficult time looking good ourselves. And, think about it...you were on the water and they were on lawn chairs....were would you rather be?
