Kinda slow today only a few bass. Again had two pike follow lures up to the boat. No hook ups. Threw numerous different lures today. Was throwing a fire tiger rattle trap again about 11:30 when a big dark log followed it to the boat. I paused slightly then BAMMMM! Saw a musky inhale my beloved rattle trap. He just started to swim off, i set the hook and held on for 5 seconds when SNAPPPPP! Spiderwire fusion does break. Must have broke at the knot. When I retyed had to do it four times before I got one to hold. And yes I use a polomer knot. A friend of mine in the bow of the boat saw the whole thing.(his musky is posted on the picture gallery) Oh yeah, we started out by the salt river moved to the C-bouy then to 1.5 miles out from Selfridge launch.

Mike,

Lakeside sella Rat-L-Traps about the size of a damned softball just for musky.

I'm willing to bet nice, say, hmmmm, FIRE ORANGE one combined with a couple of hours of steady trolling might land that varmint.....lol.

Great storie though. I had the same thing happen about 2 years ago out in front of Selfridge but I was landing about a 2lb. smallie and sucked that up. I set the hook, (or thought I did), let him run with it, gave him a little fight, let him run some more, then he spit it out when he got tired of me toying with him.

Brought the smallie to the boat it looked like Jaws has struck him!!! Anyway, I love those unexpected musky stories, and I aint got no pictures, but I do have a brother-in-law who was there as a witness.

FISH ON!!!
