Well was gonna fish st clair today but they were looking for a body at the crocker ramp and the lake was very rough so we headed out to pontiac lake.
We landed 2 out of 3 eyes. Nice eating size, lost the 3rd at the boat that was slightly bigger. 2 pike 20" and 21". 1 LM bass at 12 inches and a dozen nice blue gills. We kept the eyes and gills....mmmmmmmm..mmmmmmm.mmmmmmm good eats tonight

Yes I did launch at the state launch (one with docks) and This is the first I have heard about the park closing. Would you share more info with me about what you know. I did not look at the bulletin boards so I couldnt tell you if anything was on them or not.
I hope they dont close that park:sad:

shadow- My buddy and I were thinking of going Wed. We usually fish Pontiac a few times a year, mostly trolling or drifting crawler harnesses across from the beach in 12-13 fow.
Mind giving a little more info ?
Thanks

Pontiac is NOT closing according to the latest reports in our local papers. The State is trading some of the unused land along the airport side to the city in order to fix Williams Lake road so that you do not have to turn onto M-59 and then back onto Williams Lake. So the overall result is a little smaller Pontiac Lake Rec area, ( the part that is currently unused due to the proximity and flight path of the airport) The state is gaining acreage in other areas to make this happen.

we drifted harness's gold with red beads in the what sounds like the same area as you fish! between the islands in a little deeper water. :)
We did have some butthead see us catch the 1st eye and then he came to within 10 feet of my boat and threw his achor out:bash:    I had my son who is only 8 with me so I kept my temper down and just looked at the guy and threw my arms up to make my point as nicely as I could in front of my son and all the guy did was smile at me. I dont mind people fishing near me but dam give me a little room not to mention when he tossed his anchor out i thought he was bret favre thorwing a 90 yard touch down pass KABLOOSH well no fish around now!!!! LOL I guess just chalk it up as experiance. My son said " dad why didnt you say something to that guy" I said son a real sportsman will keep a cool temper and not let it bother them. then go find fish in another spot!

Fished the lake in the pm Thur. Drifting crawlers and shiners in the 20 mph winds. No eyes caught but threw back 1 pike, 1 bass and 7-8 gills.
