Squirrel Hunting

Any suggestions for locations in either the Port Huron or Lapeer SGA for early season squirrels. I hunted the late part of the season last year in the Lapeer SGA off of Valentine road, with very limited success.

The Lapeer SGA is pretty heavily hunted so there really aren't any spots heavily populated with fox or gray squirrels. Red squirrels are a different matter..those little pests are all over the place.

A good bet would be to drive around and find a woods that looks pretty good and ask for permission to hunt squirrels. I've done this before with my uncle and we had a pretty good success rate of get permission to hunt SQUIRRELS be sure to mention that fact and not just ask to hunt in those woods.
