I took the family to a friends house in St. Clair yesterday evening for a barbeque and fireworks party. There were numerous kids fishing from the seawall, and my 3 1/2 yr. old wanted to practice his casting. With all the other kids dunking minnows and worms nearby, I figured that maybe his flinging a hook around wasn't the best of ideas, so I put on a 5" stickbait (after removing the hooks). On his second cast a nice Northern came up and grabbed the bait, and did the same thing on two subsequent casts. My son was totally enthralled, and all the way home he was talking about the fish he "caught". Might just be a new wrinkle on Catch & Release.

It's called an LDR or long distance release. :)

Sometimes i take a pack of fire crackers and undo them so i can use them one at a time i usually throw a few in the water, about 2 years ago i threw one in and a stupid bluegill ate it and it blew most of the bluegills head off.
