For the past several weeks, my wife and I would get home from work to find a bunch of our flower pots around the house all messed up. She was blaming the "damn deer":) . I came home last night to find about 5-6 crows sitting around and on the the flower pots. They up rooted half of the flowers in each and tossed them on to the ground. I started laughing when I told her what I had seen. She didn't think it was so funny. She said get rid of them.... So any ideas?

I live in a subdivison so shooting them is not an option....

I shot one with my bow a couple of years ago.....( just luckey) No reasonable shots since... there is a lot of cats around. I might try metalic ( sparkley ) objects like pie tins or something....

Thanks for the input.;)

Do you think an Owl decoy would keep them away?

Crows are really smart birds, Whatever you try they will soon figure out that it really isn't a threat, then they will just ignore it. Good luck.

If the pots are small enough that the birds are using the rim of the pot, try some double sided tape on the rim. Get some of that sticky paper used to catch mice and place it on the ground around the pots. Don't forget to fasten it down. Not sure it will work.

I've heard if you kill one and hang it up in full view they will hang and morn then leave.

Try sprinkling some Teppin seed flakes in the flower pots. Not sure if it will have any affect on the flowers, but being that its the worlds hottest pepper, should take care of those pests the first time they bite down on one of the flakes. Here birdie, birdie, birdie!
