Fall Salmon Fishing

I am looking for some info abot fishing the oqueoc river and campground nearby.

Try calling the Chamber of Commerce in Cheboygan. The river runs right through town.

Stayed at a state forest campground right near the falls one year. I think is called in fact "Oqueoc falls campground". Nice little place, no elec., just rustic. Its on the road coming straight west out of roger's city. I don't think the salmon can get above the falls, but the dam downstream on the lake I'm not sure about. Nice lake too, we caught several nice smallies :D Didn't fish below lake to mouth, I guess this is where most guys fish for salmon and steelies, did think about surf fishing though sometime, probobly have the shore pretty much to self ? Only about 15 min. to Roger city, and heard the marina can be good for salmon in fall, and along boat channel to lake, but have yet to try casting spoons there. Nice area up there, post how you do.

You might try the Cheboygen State Park which is on US 23 about 5 miles S of town. The Oqueoc is about another 12 miles south.
