I was reading this journal on Bowsite.com of a guy that was Leopard hunting in RSA with his bow. During his hunt he was at a waterhole hunting plainsgame and here is his account! If not bad enough to read, the video is enough to make my heart race.

The first minute or so of the video is boring, but there is one point where the black mamba starts crawling straight up a wall that will make your hair stand on end.

Mambas have been known for multiple kills in villages and tents.
They are a bad snake to meet.

I dont know if I would have died from the heart attack or a snakebite first.
Probably a heart attack. If I did live I would not be going back into that blind any time soon!

I've stumbled on Rhino in the Bushveld of RSA that were within 10yds, and I can say that when doing so, I'm about 1/100th as scared as I would be to be within 100yds of a poisonous snake!

The one year, I asked my PH if they see lot's of snakes, his replay was once in a while a spitting cobra, but mostly puff aders since they like to lay in game trails in the winter to warm themselves. I then asked have you ever seen a black mamba crossing the road or anything while you driver around, the response was, "Gene, if you see one it won't be on the ground crawling across the road, you will see him moving through the brush with his head about 4' in the air so he can see where he is going!" I still can't get that vision out of my head!

Some guys on Accuratereloading.com have accounted snake stories that would keep you from sleeping for a week.
