Me and my hunting buddies have 200 acres that we picked up this year for deer hunting. 30 acres of it sticks off to one side. It's away from what looks to be the best hunting. I found a nice high spot at the river bend that would be a perfect place to set up deer camp. The only promblem is to get to the rest of the land we have to cross the fairly wide and deep (in spots) river. One guy thinks we can just get an aluminum boat and tie it up on each side.
What I don't like about that is the noise facter and the times the boat is on the wrong side. Does anybody have any ideas on how to cross the river easily.

BACKSTROKE!! :yikes: Just kidding. Alum boat with an electric trolling motor should do real nice, put some old rugs in the bottom.

ARGO!!! I guess that doesn't take the noise factor into account but I am sure it would do the job for ya. They aren't cheap though.

At a camp in the U.P., they have a floating platform similar to those you see in backyard ponds. Plastic 50 gallon drums, under a wooden platform. They tie a rope from one side to another, and have a pulley attached to the platform and the rope above. They pull themselves across. Quiet, and cheap. A lot harder for someone to steal also. Good luck.
