I had awesome luck at the POND yesterday! I found a spot where I caught close to 20 Largemouth Bass, and two HUGE Bluegills! What a day! I am sorry guys, but this spot is a little honey hole for me, and not one person was fishing it but me. I don't want to give this spot up, but if you e-mail I may give ya a few clues;)

oh, ya, here is one BIG clue: Leave the camera at home, cause I forgot mine and man, now everyone won't believe me, but I did have a witness on board!

Unless your catching 4-5 lb Large Mouth I dont really want to know where your honey hole is located, and Im not going to play email games just so you can throw me little hints.

The lake is smothered with Smally's from end to end and its not hard to catch them. If anyone hasn't had a chance to go out on this awsome lake please go out and enjoy the small mouth fishing.

Posts like that are really not necessary Fluke. I sometimes think that all the civility is gone from this world.

I can understand your points about the fishing in Lake St. Clair. It does seem to be an awesome lake with plenty of good fishing for everyone. The problem is that Don was merely sharing his good time. There should not be anything wrong with feeling good about his outing. Your post basically had no purpose other than to degrade his fun.

I see this all the time on the other big Michigan Fishing report page. People are so quick to criticize and rip other people. I don't want to see it happen here as well.

Sometimes emails don't really capture our sentiment. Maybe that's what happened in this case. I just didn't read your email as being anything but negative. If that's the case, then save it. We don't need it. Thanks.

Im sorry you feel that way and so quick to post such negativity. My intentions were not to degrade Don for any reason Im sorry It might have came off a little harsh.

Congrats Don on a fantastic day on St.Clair

I did come to this website after visiting the other, less civil site and being disgusted. Maybe I was just a bit sensitive and protective. I don't want to see that crap happen on this site. Anyway, I am glad that you responded so quickly and sorry about reading too much in to your first post.

Hey, It's ok everyone! I was just posting on a great day of fishing! I am willing to share the spot, but the Largemouths were only plentiful, not huge! I just didn't want a swarm of boats to run there and ruin a good spot! I hope Fluke understands that this is a great site with great people. Most are like me, we love the outdoors and are very willing to help people any way we can. I get satisfaction out of enjoying the outdoors and seeing others do the same. So If anyone needs anything at all, the fine people on this site are always ready to help!;)

Hey sounds like you had a great outing!

I have been in SE Mich since 1991 and never really considered the outdoors other then my weekly golf league, and the occaisional backyard BBQ. I hightail it outta here to the north 48 out of 52 Fridays and am bored silly during those weeks that I dont leave.

Are you fishing up in the Northern portion of Lake SC, or towards the Detroit River? I am noticing some bass boats close to shore when I go home that way, and have been debating whether to bring my boat down here to try the fishing.

thanks,

That is great that you had an awesome day and all Northern, but reavealing your loacation will certainly leave it open for many anglers out there. The word travels fast, and you can almost gurantee that next time the hole will be taken or have only a small population of fish. I know many tourny anglers who fish the lake who don't mention anything at their weigh-ins and know it is pointless because the word will get out quickly. Besides, alot of fish on Lk. St. Clair will move or wander, and not stay concentrted in an area for a long time. Sure there is some populations of fish that will remain there for a while, but you may not always catch them!!:D Smallies move alot in schools and that is why many tourny anglers lose because they stay in one spot with hopes of winning there. Here's an example, at the BASSmaster classic on Lake Michigan a year ago, Kevin Van Dam and Art Ferguson were favored anglers b/c of their knowledge of smallies in the Great Lakes. They knew how to fish smallies effectivly, but Woo Daves, an underdog from the south took risks, and had much confidence in many areas, not just in one like Van Dam. The smallies were on the move and Daves moved alot!! This is a true story, and Woo Daves one that tournament. Sometimes you have to take risks sometimes, and can't be confident with only one spot! I am not trying to be mean, just want to give some advice on how that hole may not have fish in there next time. Northern, my advice is if you want to fish that spot again, keep your mouth shut and don't tell anyone, there could be a prize that you may find next time out. Oh yeah, Northern, will you think about allowing me in the club again!

Umm northern, did you ask for that information? Dan, your doing it again.

Thanks Stelmon! LOL! I don't know about the club, dan. I suppose if ya cool it down on this site and we meet up some day, there would be a chance. We will just have to see. I don't mind info on fishing, dan, if I ask for it, but I am sure no one on this site wants to read anything they can read in a magazine. Keep it short and simple and try to use info from your own experiences. It looks more professional...unless you are out to be a reporter, and I don't think that is the case!>>>Don

Seems to me it would be almost impossible for anyone to go out in LSC with a few vital facts or directions and find a honey hole. You could be off by hundreds of yards and not know it without GPS corrdinates. Now if Don said 100 yards from the C-bouy that might be possible. There is land marks to go by but lining them up just right would give you a general position but the honey hole still could be way off course. Besides you can catch bass all over the lake without really trying. Don thanks for sharing your day with us. I wish more guys would report when the go fishing even if they got skunked. And let us know whats going on when we are not out there.

Dan, I don't want to sound too critical but from all of your posts you seem to want to be a know-it-all. Please share your experiences with us but don't act like you know everthing about everthing because none of us do.
