You know your in trouble when the first word your daughter recognizes at 4 months is Kudu and instantly looks up on the wall for it and want's to pet it. Now at 10 months old her favorite evening pastime is to study a warthog skull instead of playing with her toys!

TSS, are you also a member at the accuratereloading.com forums?
Just found that site a few days ago, and just noticed your picture there. My younger brothers and sister all know their African animals by now too. :) I'd really like to go one day.
What country did you hunt? South Africa?

Yep, I've been on Accuratereloading for a few years now. IMHO it is the best hunting/shooting web site around. There are some sharp cookies over there that have hunted everything that's crawled this great earth and some of the best custom gun smiths you'll find. Heck Saeed himself has killed well over a hundred cape buffalo!
I've been to RSA the last 2 summers, day care put an end to that this past year though.
Planning to do Leopard in another 3 years, in Zimbabwe if the political situation doesn't get any worse, if it does get worse then Zambia.

Yep, it is a fantastic website. I've been going through the archives for days going through all that good information. Lots of good stuff on there. And yes, Saeed seems to be quite a character. Do you have any idea on what he does? Not everyone has the money to go on 2 week safaris over and over and shoot Cape Buffalo at will. :p
Leopard sounds like a sweet hunt, but don't know about Zimbabwe, I think I'd really like to see Tanzania or Botswana- safer too. Are there any other animals you want to go after besides leopard?
I've been reading "Death in the Long Grass" lately, and I can't get enough of it.

Saeed is connected to royalty in UAE some how. His brother just won the Olympic trap doubles, and on going to the Olympic website and looking at his bio you see the last name Al Moukton(sp) thrown around quite a bit, he has some relation that is something like vice president of UAE, another that is prince of Dubai etc... Heck, there was just a thread about SAA and people looking into flying into Dubai now and UAE airlines is run by a Al Moukton! So I think there is a lot of money in that family, no doubt since like you mentioned Saeed goes for a month at a time to Tanzania and shoots as many buffalo as he can. You have to be taking about at least a 50k hunt every year. Last year he paid for everone in camp's taxidermy!
Animals? Well  Stil need a nice Waterbuck I guess, other then that I wouldn't mind a cow Ele. hunt and have had a bad craving for Leopard. Other then that, I've seen lot's of Buff. and don't really have a craving to shoot one. To be frank I'd get more of a kick out of shooting 10 baboons in a day then a buffalo. For that matter, if the plainfare was a little more reasonable, I could make a trip out of shooting just Baboons, Jackals and Warthogs.
It is definetly worth the trip if you can swing it some day.
