Do any of you make your fishing tackel? I mean things like spinner baits, cralwer harnesses, fishing poles. How do they work out good or not so good. I like to make my own spinner baits I seem to have good luck with them. I`m working on a castable cralwer harness for shallow water Walleye any ideas?

We used to make all are crawler harnesses for walleye. So many snags on the Detroit River it would cost a small fortune to fish each time. Basically set up two hooks with a spinner and different color beads, nothing too fancy.

I've seen some home made pike lures. They sure aren't the prettiest things, but it was worth a shot to try and make em right?;)

My buddy and I make our crawler harnesses all the time. Takes but a few minutes for each one and you have the colors you want.

I suggest using the 6 mm beads from Wal Mart, number 8 hooks, 8 lb test Trilene line, clevis and blades from Cabela's. I suggest using about 5 beads per harness. You can mix the bead colors to see what works best..... Blades, probably a number 3 size would be best. Good fishing, Mac

When I get beads from Wal-Mart, I go to the sewing section. You can get alot more for alot less. Chad.

We get our blades and beads at the fishing expo at the palace each spring. Very cheap!! If they don't have what we want, Lakeside fishing shop on Jefferson does.
