Fishing has been white hot lately in the Brest Bay - Stony Point area. The fish aren't huge (most around 15"), but they are in there thick. I've done best with small spoons, others are hammering them with HotnTots. One word of caution, I heard of 1-2 hour waits last weekend at the Sterling State Park boat launch. Suggest either getting on and off early on the weekends, fishing weekdays, or launching at Bolles Harbor.

Homer hit nail on the head with that post. I've been doing very well on hot-n-tots. 2 man limits last 4 times out. Fished from Luna Pier up to the Banana Dyke, anywhere is hot hot hot right now.

We got 42 off Stoney Point this morning from 8am-12. Chrome Wiggle Warts were working, 80' back. We never bothered running riggers or dipseys. Only 3 silver bass and 1 largemouth.
Everyone is limiting. It's been fantastic for 3 weeks now.

Ray:
The Banana Dike is south of where the Detroit River enters Lake Erie, also right where the Huron River comes in, near the Point Moullie State Game Area. The nearest town is probably South Rockwood.

Went back again Friday, with almost identical results, except the bugs were unbelievable. You could barely breath at times. 44 walleye, about 4 silver bass and a couple sheephead. Same program. Anything chrome, 80' back on the boards. We caught them all the way from the dumping grounds north. Ran into one nice school of big fish. Had 3 on, but only landed 1, and it was about 7lbs.
Get out there if you can, but bring a masquito net or you'll be picking bugs out of your teeth.

Went today(sat) w/2 others. Got our 18 fish, but it took till 12:30 to do so. I guess we need some practice. Mostly 13-15 inchers with 4 of them 19-21 inches. Best bait was a scorpion stinger , siver watermelon type, and a rainbow trout 1/4 oz hot and tot.The spoons were on small divers and jet planers, the tots went on in line boards. What a nice day to be there with the masses. Not many bugs. Nice 1-2 ft chop and sw breeze to stay cool by. We also got a couple perch and some sheeps and whiteys. water was 79 degrees!:)
