How has the bay been for walleyes in the last couple of weeks?
I have no ball tournaments this weekend and was considering taking the boys out. I just have not decided if it will be a trout/salmon trip or walleye.

You can expect a few fish, but don't expect limits.
I fished for four hours on Saturday off of Sebewaing and managed three nice walleyes. The bay has been pretty slow as of late. The water temp was 65. The fish were scattered all over. Caught fish in 12 foot, 16 foot and 18 foot. Caught on both crawler harnesses and hot-n-tots.
Plenty of white bass, catfish, northerns and sheephead to keep you busy between 'eyes. Access is difficult on the east side, call ahead.
The fishing should improve with the water temp.
Good luck if you go.
Rumors had fish in 10 foot off Bay City State Park. The best action was around the Charity's

You are right on, Mike. Fished Callahan Reef Monday afternoon. No gators, only cats and sheepshead. Radio traffic indicated a decent bite off the Sebewaing river. Will be there later this week. We were in 77 degree water on the reef so things are heating up. Quanicassee launch is shallow, but the channel is good, 3-4 FOW. Sunset is 2 ft. at the end of the channel but boats are making it out. Thomas Marina is open and passable. Have not heard much about the Seb. River launch but they are catching up there and at the Steeples, N of the Charities.

Fished the steeples north of the charity's on sunday. Best bite was before noon. Ended up 4 for 5. 4 to 6 lbs. There was talk on the radio of some big fish being taken, but no hogs for us. Crawler harnesses behind snap weights off boards worked best. Did try plastic for a while with no results. Launched at Northport in Augres.

How is the channel at Northport?

Tom22, the channel at Northport is in good shape. 3 to 5 ft of water all the way out. Well marked. Plenty wide enough to deal with two way traffic. Sorry it took so long to reply.
Good luck.
