The north bayou and south bayou are excellent for largemouth, gills and crappie. For smallmouth try along the southern part of the lake. For walleye, just about anywhere in the main lake where there are weeds next to a drop off will hold walleye. The walleye like to hold along the drop offs during the day and tend to move up into the shallows at night. Try crawler harnesses and hot n tots during the day. If you find them bunched up some where go to a jig and minnow combination. Jointed rapalas at night do well.

I am headed up that way myself in a couple of weeks.

Good luck. :)

TRY WWW.NBAYOU.COM THEY USUALLY HAVE FISHING REPORTS FOR THE LAKE. THEY ALSO SELL MAPS FOR HAMLIN LAKE THAT SHOWS GOOD LOCATIONS TO FISH. I USUALLY PULL UP TO THEIR MARINA /STORE BY BOAT FOR REFRESHMENTS AND INFO. GOOD PEOPLE

Doogster: I used to own the North Bayou Resort that gene is talking about. I can tell you that Hamlin Lake has a great healthy population of a variety of fish...walleyes, smallmouth, largemouth, bluegills, crappie and others. Be sure to stop at the Resort and talk with Dave. He'll give you the best advice of anyone since he's been fishing Hamlin for at least 25 years.

waterside resort is located at south bayou. Check out the fishing report. The picture of the kid with the 36 inch pike is me from quite awhile ago. I caught it at middle bayou. This bayou always is very very weedy but there are bass bluegills and quite a few pike. If anyone wants to hear the story of my pike its lengthy but good.
