need help i work nights and all the classes i have found have two classes during the week and one all day class. this is three days i would have to take off work to get my son and wife into hunter saftey. does anyone know anybody near the rockford area that does weekend classes? wife and son are both in school and than i work nights so are time is limited and need to get this done soon the 15th of september will be here soon

If yours is a situation where you only have one car have her drop you off at work then her and your son can go by themselves. It that's not the case she and your son can go by themselves. Your presence is not required as she is an adult I assume.

i have tried the dnr sight and all the classes i see have two weeknights and than an all day class. the problem i am having is i work nights and the wife is in school full time. and this class schedule conflicts with hers. i remember the class being a one day class on a saturday at the high school. plus from what i understand since i lost my certificate in a flood and the dnr not being able to locate my certificate in thier system it sounds like i may need to retake it so i may hunt out of state. and basicly i believe i need a copy for this state if i am correct

Wildcoy, the DNR should be able to locate a copy of your card if they say they cannot I would talk to someone else in the dept. There is a sportsmans club near Saginaw that did have the classes on a Saturday and Sunday. It was one weekend and you were done. It is called the Wolverine Sportsmans Club and it is in St Charles. They usually had a few in summer early fall so you may want to check because you are runnin out of time

As to the lost certificate, if you took the class in the last 12 years or so, PM me your full name, address, city, state and date of birth and I will check in the computer for it. If it was much longer than 12 years or so, before a lot of information was stored in computers, you can just take the experienced hunters test and get a new card. As to other members of the family taking hunter safety they will have to keep trying to find one for just the weekends. There will be some I'm sure, watch the DNR web site for class announcements and also watch your local newspaper because not all instructors tell the DNR about classes they are planning to give. Classes really will start showing up between now and the end of September.
