I'm in need of refletching my Goldtips . They were slightly offset but I now have a dropaway rest . So my question is should I put on a helical twist to help my fixed broadhead flight or go with one of those quick twist vanes? I have always shot with feathers - don't know much about how well vanes shoot. My broadheads seemed to shoot well last season but I thought if I didn't have to worry about clearance problems with the fletch - Why not put some spin to it??? Perhaps it would bring my group in tighter

all i can say is i used to shoot 80lbs can't recall speed but it was great. i shoot with and without an overdraw and used 125 grain thunderheads with i tm hunter rest and all i used was a three inch straight fletch. i picked this up from indoor archery shoots. the bow shoot bullets threw the paper and my groups were tight. just have to tune your bow and practice till the bow is part of ya. 20 30 yard shoot in the wood i really do not see a need to twist a vane

Hellical will stabilize faster and better for sure with a broadhead tipped arrow of any variety.
The quick spins work very well, but they're a bit pricey for what you get IMO.
As long as you have the clearnce I'd go with the hardest twist you can and still keep even contact of the feather on the shaft. Yes...your groups will probably improve. Most significantly in a crosswind and at closer ranges.

I've been playing around with the new Balzer vanes. So far so good. They are only 2" long, but fly well with broadheads.

I am in the process of trying some of the NAP Quick Spins. I have heard some really good things about them and figured why not give them a try. Many people of said that they give you the advantages of a heavy helical feather, but the durrability of a plastic vane. What could be better, I thought... :D We'll see...
