From the LACA:
Hi to all Captains

1. The LRBOI will be doing whitefish assessment netting south of Ludington over the next several days.
This requires setting a length of net marked w/ staffs at each end, set in the afternoon, and left in overnight.
The nets are recovered the next morning. All Captains should be aware of the locations of this test netting.
And take due care if fishing in that area.
See the note from the tribal biologist below for the test net locations:

Jim,
We will be conducting assessment activities out of Ludington this week and possibly next week, weather dependant, for our independent lake whitefish assessments.
We will be conducting these activities along LAT 43o 53.6 and LAT 43o 51.9, between 50 to 200 feet of water.Our Assessment nets will be marked as usual with orange flagged staff buoys.

Thanks for the info, Ed, we are planning on being in town this Thursday,and fishing through the weekend. Sounds like you got them going pretty good, will you be fishing this weekend? Mike
