While fishing with Captain Jay and Lindser last Saturday and catching a limit of nice eater size walleyes, the Captain wanted some bigger fish so he went into his boxes of tricks and pulled out a bottom bouncer and his favorite secret weapon, a gold floating rapala. He tied the rapala on about a 30" leader and attached it to the bottom bouncer and sent it down to the bottom. It didn't take long for the rod to start bouncing with a singing drag. I had visions of salmon fishing. Actually it turned out to be a good warm up for salmon as we pulled in several master angler sheepshead ranging from 22.5 to 28".

Here's Captain Jay with a dandy.

And here's Lindser's,

And here's a 24 incher that I was going to submit for a master angler patch,

Until this 28" came along.

Thanks a lot Captain Jay, I had a great time.

Those are some nice drum. They took me by suprise one fall weekend casting a Cleo in the surf up at the tip of the thumb. Sheep were the only thing I managed all weekend other than one smallie, but I sure caught a ton of those critters.
