Got out on one of my favorite small bays last night, fishing from shore. Caught too many bass to count, all largemouth. The average was sweet, not one fish below 16", most about 18" and two big pigs. Between 8:15 and 8:45 I was getting a fish at least every other cast, with one streak of 4 casts in a row. I never moved more than 50' from where I started. All fish were caught on either Weed Demons or Scum Frogs, in 2'-6' of water, with grass and coontail growing right to the surface.

Sounds like you had a better spot than I did....

I went 0 for 5 in about 1:45 of fishing. It was real slow. It was a nice night to be out though.

LOL Bill. I had a 1 1/2 hours to kill, no point in launching. Heck, that lake is so full of bass, I'd launch, move 50' from the launch and cast back to shore at dusk anyhow.
Muskies got the hurt put on them last weekend, as they will again (hopefully) at dawn next Sunday.

I put the St Clair Curse on myself. Last night I got down to the lake, there was a fairly stiff breeze. I tied on a Strike King grass frog popper. Got hit after hit, but with the wind the way it was, the only fish I could stick were the ones hitting inside of 50'. Any further out and there was too big a bow in the line from the wind to be able to wind in the slack and get a good hookset. On real long casts, the wind would grab the line and have that bait watersking across the chop, and the fish would hit it, but I just couldn't nail them. I think I ended up landing 4.
