For the money, you cannot go wrong with a Garmin unit. You might be able to find a color unit for that if you look around. Make sure to get the 50/200 transducer.

The garmins are nice units. Furuno has a good reputation, but I'm still trying to get mine to hold bottom while running. I'm sure in time, I'll get it right. Nice while troling. The new RayMarine units display is sweet. Clarity is unbelieveable. I can't speak for the performance. Whatever you do, stay away from the high power Lowrance units. People are buring out 1,2,3 transducers a year, and lowrance will not even acknowlege the problem.

have the graph for about 7 years....it does it all...speed is useless, it has
one of those spinner sprokets on the transducer and they don't seem to work
well...I prefer a GPS for speed....
After seven years the power button broke and fell off into the lake ...fortunately, I can turn it on with a couple of bent staples until I can
replace it....time for a new one...so, I'll be lookin to, but at the end of the season...hopefully, get this years model at a cheaper price...
I hear good things about Forouno (sp)? and Garmin, may look into color
and GPS this time ---all in one...
The basic Humminbird was good to me for a long time!
