:fish: I have looked for a map that shows inland lakes in St. Clair County and I can't seem to find one. My question is, are there any small inland lakes in St. Clair County?? One that a person could run a 16 ft. boat on.. Thanx for any help given.

I asked the same question last week... The unfortunate answer is no, there isn't any. I bought a topographical atlas for michigan that had every county in it pretty detailed and was disappointed. Everything in and around St. Clair County pretty much sucks for inland lakes. There are quite a few rivers though that I didn't know existed. I did some driving yesterday and found a few prospects. Even stood on a bridge and watched as schools of fish swam by. Couldn't tell what they were because the water was pretty cloudy, but you can bet I marked it and am going back! I guess I'll learn how to fly fish sooner rather than later.

I know that its not St. Clair County, but I've heard that the lake in Stoney Creek metro park is supposed to be good fishing. Any one ever fished there before? :fish:

:fish: So whats the best way to fish that lake Mike? Trolling? Drifting? I hear that the best place for Walleye is the NW corner of the lake? I live in Port Huron and wasa thinking of going that way Sat. is the boat traffic terrible on the weekends? Or guess I should be asking if its really worth a 60 min. drive?
Thanks for any help you have Mike :)

Personally I wouldn't waste time or gas to go there from where your at. I'd go to the river or Lk. Huron.

I've gone there many times only to return empty handed. Yes there are fish there to be caught. Just think its not worth it for you. Hell, I live 2 miles from there and have yet to go this year.

I am with Walleye MIke on this one. Don't waist your time comming down here. If you want to catch walleye in that lake you will end up with more catfish then anything else. ;)
