Got out there about 5:30 yesterday and set up shop in about 10 feet of water with good weed growth...Were getting one here, one there and was slowly getting enough for a fishfry...And then, after the rain stopped, right before dark, it was "game on"...Started getting doubles, action became constant...

Our tally: we kept about 15 perch and 15 sunnies when it was said and done...Caught about dozen rock bass too...Our perch ranged from 8 3/4 to 12" but most were around 9-10". Was very surprised as to how skinny the perch were...Anything under 8 1/2" was really not worth filleting IMO...

Our sunnies were thick bodied and ran from 7-9"...Most of our keepers were from one-half to 2/3 of a pound...I've caught bigger in the past, but those were just fine...

Most of our fish came on the bottom with the size 6 hooks set about a foot off the bottom and all of our fish were caught on worms...We did get some bobber fishing about 6-7 ft. down but only got a few.

Anyway, we're just learning that area and hope our luck there continues into the fall...and now if you'll excuse me, I've got some fish to fry... :D

that is a very productive area. South of the cross dyke at the extreme east end is Canadian water. I have never been checked and of course always have a canadian license. As fall approaches it is a wonderful place to fish.
