guys had been complaining about how bad the fishing was so when i got out of work last night i ask the wife if she wanted to go out and see what we could come up with.
by the time we got to the area i wanted to try it was after 8:30pm. we set two harnesses one with a 2 oz thhe other with a 3 oz snap on them and two bottom bouncer rigs witha plain rig on them both. then we trolled in 40' to 48' of water on the east side.
we pulled lines just before 10pm with two legal fish and one throw back. not too bad for less then a hour and a half. one fish off the northland firetiger the rest off pepto-pink.

hit hubbard lake again last night. this time we ran snaps and crawlers on all four lines. fished the south west side in 40' to 45' of water between 8pm and 10pm. northland firetiger caught all four fish.

Hey Ed. Saw you out there last night. I was fishing for smallies in the east bay and around churchill point. Manged to force feed one 16" smallie and about a 20" northern. Tough fishing really. Just wondering what ounce snap weights your running and about what speed? Thanks for the report.

esj,
i was running 2 and 3oz snaps at 1.2 to 1.5 sog. caught fish on the two ounce and the three ounce so no real pattern there. if the weather holds i might do a catch and release trip on wednesday.

ebe - how about doing a catch and release to me :one_eye: I haven't been out in a couple weeks - been up, but not out. Did do some one-offs night fishing in front of the hardwoods a couple weeks ago - beads/blades.

I definitely do that. Went out on Muskegon Lake last night for a couple hours, caught several limits of sheephead, white perch and rock bass :( There was a lot of boats just starting out as I was coming in - dang work!
