There is a Possibility of me fishing St. Clair in the near future with a couple of 8-10 year olds.
Does anyone know what the laws are for them fishing in Canadian waters? Do they need licenses or is there a minimum age like Michigan has?
I'll be targeting Perch, Walleye and Muskie.

They can fish without a license but their catch limit is part of your license. Example: Perch is a 50 limit per person/license. You will only be allowed 50 total since they are fishing under your limit. You are allowed 6 Walleye but remember that only one can be above 18.1 inches. They rest have to be below 18.1. They will have a blast with the Muskie and no worry about limits. Just take a picture for the memory and send it back. I'm going to be busy the next couple weekends so I don't know if I'll be out but if I can be of any assistance, I'd love to see you get the boys some fish. Good luck! BTW, I buy my 10 year old a license so he can take his own limit. If you do it quite often, it might be worth it.

Thanks GF, I'll shoot you a line when I am for sure gonna head that way.
I figured I'd bore them :D for a while on a School of Perch if I can find them, then run out the lines and let them handle a ski on a downrigger rod with superbraid. :yikes:
Do you think I can get by with #13 Raps, Boomer Long As and Smithwick Rogues for lures?

They definitely take some fish but if you want, I could loan you some Loke's and Wiley's. Personally, I think you would have better luck with those. Just let me know!

I live in Harrison Twp near Metro Beach. When your date gets close, we'll hook you up. The last time I lent some Muskie baits out to a Bass/Perch charter captain, he used lighter line and leaders and lost some of my best baits. :bonk: Hmmm, maybe you should borrow some of my rods/reels/leaders too. :p Anyway, I have plenty of Muskie stuff and you're welcome to borrow it. Just make sure you get those kids some fish. Just a comment, the big planer boards are highly recommended for LSC Muskie trolling. We usually catch more fish off the boards than the boat rods. Anyway, let me know when it gets close. :)

 :p :) Sorry, the 10 year old guide is coming with me! Hey Jay, on another note, I bought Jr a fairly cheap fly rod last year. I tried to show him how to use it but I stink with a fly rod so it sat in the garage gathering dust. A couple nights ago my neigbor spent a few minutes with him and after a little practice, he's laying flies next to the seawall across the canal and having a ball popping Bluegill and Bass. Heck, he hasn't even put a fly into the back of his head yet! :p I sure hope he continues pursuing fishing and the outdoors. BTW, there are a lot of things I would lend out but the 27 Pursuit is not one of them! :D

The Tiara without the guide won't do me much good. lol Whe I was his age we use to fish bass on the canadian side and I remember my dad and uncle using fly rods, man that seems like a long time ago. Your going to have to start stream fishing in the fall as well as hunting now. Boy that kid is going to keep you busy .

Man Jay, you can read that kid like a book! Went out at lunch today to apply for my antlerless Deer tag and we're getting the Dry Fly ready to head up to the NW streams next weekend. Going to Gander Mountain after work to buy lighter line to try to catch those elusive Trout! If nothing else, I'm learning a lot. I'm the Jack of all trades and the master of none! :p
