I always run them off the boards so they are set on 0. Not sure how the track to the side compared to the bigger dipsies. Good luck and let us know if you can run a couple boat rods off each side using them.

best thing to do would be to buy the precision trolling guide. it has all the info you need in it. good luck :)

Essentially, they are "setup" just like the regular and magnum dipseys. There is no "trick" to them. The further to the side you spin the weight, the further they go out. The more towards the front you point the weight, the deeper it dives, but less to the side. For the running depths, POLARBEAR is right on.. I have found that the mini Luhr Jensons work way better than the mini big jons...

Jason, why do you say that the Lure-Jensen is way better. I've only run the Big Jons but I have used a jet diver a few times and it worked quite well or is that the one you are referring to?

I was towing crawler harnesses and jr. thindersticks behind both a few weekends ago(first time I had used dipseys for walleye), and the Big jon Minis, in either size, wanted to roll, or just not plane off to the side very well, no matter how I adjusted them. The LJ's, which were just a bit bigger, seemed to work just like a regular dipsey, no problems at all. The LJ's were marked for adjustment as well if that matters to you.

I guess I haven't noticed that problem because I always run mine in the straight position off the boards. I'm just using them to get down and not off to the side. Thanks for your response. :)

The Precision Trolling book doesn't have depth for settings other than 0 for the 3/0 diver. Unless, the newer edition does. I usually run them on the 3
setting to get them away from the boat. I set them back as if they were set
on 0 using the dive curve. I figure they will run within a couple feet above
what the book says and the fish will move up to hit them. From there, I move
them up and down depending on if the fish hit.

according to luhr jensen, putting a disc on the 3 setting as opposed to zero darn near cuts the depth in half (its more like 60% the depth of setting 0).

The new Woods-n-Waters has a chart for the big-jon mini disks. Might be worth checking out if this is the brand you have. Also, a lot cheeper than The precision trolling guide if this is all you need. Good Luck

Based on my experience it isn't as much. I've caught bottom enough times, however, I'm troling at 2.0 or so. Faster may tend to dive less, and slower,
deeper. At 50' back, I have to watch my turn speed in 20', or I pick up zebra's on my hooks.
