for those trolling crawler harnesses are you still using bottom bouncers? the more and more the weeds come in it seems i am spending 75% of the time with at least one of my lines out of the water cleaning weeds off it. i also like ed's idea below. any tips on how to spend more time with lines in the water and less time cleaning my lines?
Thanks.

i *think* he was referring to using a bullet weight instead of the bottom bouncers then just running it above the really low weeds and it will cut through the tall weeds better.

Put a speed bead on the line 4-5 feet ahead of the harness. The speed bead will collect the weeds, keeping the harness clear.

You might want to try some inline sinkers, they usually work pretty well when the weeds start to get a bit heavey. I also let the rod "pull" the line through the weed, dont pull the rod...you will end up with less lure cleaning and more time in the water.

A speed bead is a plastic bead, looks like a pill capsule, with a groove in it. You slide and wrap your line into the groove, no tying. They are usually used to stop inline planner boards from sliding all the way down and hitting your lure. by placing them on your line 3-4 feet in front of the lure. Without it, the board can slide all the way down and in turn hit your fish and possibly knocking the fish off.

yup, also put on a line to stop a slider or to put a stacker on a line.... i tried to find a picture of one online, but couldn't find one.
