I am replacing my exhaust gaskets on my johnson 88. Anything special I should be doing? Or just put the gaskets on and bolt her up. Thanks.

I'll give you my 2 cents worth. We would just bolt them up and torque to specs, I do the same thing with Header gaskets on my Chevelle, nothing special as far as Permatex or a sealer. Now on other gaskets i.e. oil pan, heads, valve cover, etc. I use a sealer to keep oil from leaking out where it shouldn't be. Don't know about boat motors though.

go to ur marine and ask them for peanut butter this is a very thin sealer and works great and holding hings in place and giving an extra seal plus use it on all ur hose fitting and it will seal water
