Do you hunt the State game area or do you have Priv. land that you hunt around Allegan? I have been hunting the State Game area for about 17 years now. Allegan a great place if you can get away from the crowds.

I have hunted many years on the state forest from the fennville area to montery I have used the south parcel south of allegan a lot the past few years. Its awfully thick and swampy but that just keeps the hunters out. Are you familiar with the area.. if not you need to check it out next time be prepared though its some hard hunting but with the deer population its well worth it. the private is a family farm about .75 mile from there.. so I know the local heard well.

I use to hunt the section south of M-89 around the High banks. Then it became popular and I started moving south form there. Now I hunt mainly around 116th St. and 44th St. all the way to 112th and 52nd Seems to be a lot less traffic. I also hunt some privet land over in Covert.

I always liked the area around the creek I hunted there in the parking area west of 44th on 116th just at the top of the hill. lots of bucks in there before they logged it out several years ago
