I though this was pretty cool. We did this with Scouts and they loved it. Take an old pair of wool or cotton socks and have the kids put them on over their shoes. Have them walk, run, prance, jump, trot, etc.... through a field. Seeds will stick to the socks. Take the socks off and bury them in about an inch of soil. Water and keep moist. The seeds will sprout. They can later use fieldguides to identify what they have grown. Often times they are wildflowers. The sock will rot away.

Sounds pretty cool !

Heck, I've got an old pair of sneakers that are sprouting SOMETHING that I don't think I'd find in any field guide. :yikes: :)
