Just got home from a LOOOONG day on Erie, Got on the water at 0700, Pretty choppy ride out to 23 fow. Decided to drift with harnesses. With the wind we were making 1.75 to 2.50 mph just drifting, Picked up 3 eyes about 18 in in 3 hours. Lake started to lay down a bit just before noon, Broke out the boards and riggers, Took a couple 17-18 in eyes with gold stinger on the riggers 18 feet down, 50 back and a couple with a pink and purple flatfish 20 down, 25 feet back.bite stopped around 1400hrs, worked Tots and warts, reefrunners, wallydivers and anything else with a lip we could find ( three of us in the boat our boxes hold at least a hundred bodies each) No go. we started trolling in 24 fow in front of Fermi to north end of bananna dyke. I heard something about pink on the radio, We started digging I came up with A solid pink tot, a reefrunner in hot fuchia. Between the three of us we had about 6 or 7 pink lures. We ran these off the boards between 75 and 100 feet back. didn't rewally seem to matter, We started Catching Eyes in the 21-24 inch range, Ended up with a three man limit, last fish went into the box around 2045 hrs. Ended the day watching a guy at the ramp at Sterling try and drag his 18-20 foot fiberglass walkthru boat out of the water with his drive down..Bent the skeg totally flat. he hit the brakes and jumped out of his truck and ran back to the stern of the boat, just then the skeg broke free from the concrete and the boat on the trailer and the truck rolled into the water where the boat trailer jack-knifed away from the dock, this pulled his truck towards the dock, the rear driver side wheel made it up onto the dock taking out at least two mooring posts. There were two older gentlemen holding a boat on that dock and they were just missed by the truck. The guy got back into his truck and managed to drive it off the dock and up the ramp..Tailgate totaled. bow of the boat was smashed (by open tailgate) lower unit busted open.. Oh and these guys were camping at Sterling. And They seemed pretty lubricated if ya know what I mean.. I hope they at least limited out and today was their last day camping , I know it is their last day fishing...How do you explain that when you get back to camp? :SHOCKED: :sick: :bash:
