Well, ran out of Sterling last night. Water was pretty rough for my little boat, but it calmed as the evening went on. We started in 15' because
for the waves and trolled out to 21'. Had my son and a buddy with me, tried to get my buddy to steer the boat while I worked lines, but after doing a couple 360's had to do it all myself. Ran Bombers, spoons, warts, and tots. Caught 1 6" eye on a stinger spoon behind a mini dipsy, and lost a nice one off a rainbow bomber stacked above a wart on an alberta clipper. Was the first time running the clipper and I didn't lock it down tight. The fish pulled it
down and the slack gave him enough to get off. Left some nice tooth marks in the bomber. Didn't mark many fish, and the two other boats we saw when we came in didn't have any fish either. One had run nearly to Ohio waters.

Lots of weeds and some nasty logs floating. Keep your eyes open out there.

Thats odd? My cousin and neighbor limited in 19 ft straight out of sterling. Using crawlers, they were out from noon- 5:00pm. He said most people coming into the ramp had fish with lots having near limits. They are also getting perch down there too.

Sounds like us guys that have been running the michigan stinger and dipsey program that has produced so well the past couple of years need to switch to drifting or trolling worm harnesses with the dirty water. I'll try that if I can get out in the next couple of days and let everyone know.

Thanks for both reports.

We fished from 7:30-10pm. However, because I had no help with the boat
while setting up, I didn't run any harnesses. Normally I run at least 1. My
little 14' took a little effort to keep straight out there, so I didn't want to
mess with crawlers. Sounds like I should have.
