New to the area in Traverse and am wondering how folks fish Lake Leelanau. Went out last year and casted some husky jerks with absolutely no luck. I am planning on hitting South Leelanau and am looking for some expert advice.

Any help is appreciated

I have a buddy that fishes it every year and claims that he does very well with slip bobbers and live bait along the west shore line.

Sorry couldn't me more help but this may be a place for you to start.

leelanau, no luck?.....were u casting your husky jerks on north or south leelanau?...north is more noted for trout, but the south lake contains about every variety of warm water species..lots of folk jig or troll harnesses for eyes there.....but the bass ,both species, the pike and even the larger perch should take a jerk...for quanity of fish we like to troll just outside the weed bed west side from last point to cedar river inlet..perch we fish the 40foot range middle of lake near south end....bass we cast the southwest shore in evening, an occassionally run a little way up the cedar river..eyes we find all over, but generally they are small to eater size
